About this tour
This active excursion takes us east from Ushuaia to discover some of the most spectacular and untouched landscapes of Tierra del Fuego.
The journey begins by road, crossing Fuegian forests and landscapes along National Route 3 and Provincial Route J until reaching Harberton Ranch, one of the most historically significant settlements in Tierra del Fuego. Here, we visit the Marine Mammal Museum and explore the surroundings of the historic ranch.
We then board a zodiac-style boat and navigate the Beagle Channel towards Martillo Island, where we can observe penguins from the water in their natural breeding environment.
The navigation continues to Gable Island, a largely untouched and wild area where lunch and drinks are served surrounded by pristine nature.
After lunch, the adventure continues with an approximately two-hour hike across the island. The trail passes through forests, coastal landscapes and ancient paths, with the opportunity to discover traces connected to the Yámana people and the region's early settlers.
An ideal experience for travelers who enjoy walking, exploring and discovering a wilder side of Tierra del Fuego beyond the traditional sightseeing routes.
Important: this is an active excursion involving approximately 2 hours of hiking. Comfortable outdoor clothing and suitable hiking footwear are recommended.
